Our Story...
Ask any Napoletano what are the most important virtues in life and they will respond family and food. Sapori di Napoli “Taste of Naples” was created to share these virtues with its patrons. Brothers, Daniele Florio and Ambrogio Florio, created a restaurant concept combining authentic southern Italian cuisine with family style charm.
Born in Naples, Italy, these brothers grew up spending their weekends in Agerola; a small county town on the Almalfi coast where their father was born. It is here where the true inspiration for Sapori di Napoli was born. Sundays in Agerola were spent with close friends and family in the courtyard and symbolized a day of simplicity. No fancy tables being set; No agenda; No clocks; No invitations…Just a day of family spending time together and enjoying great food and wine all made with ingredients picked from the family orchard. These days became known as “Agerola Sunday”. Now, these brothers are excited to share “Agerola Sunday” with the public.
Daniele Florio spent years as a chef in Italy, London, New York and Miami. After meeting his wife in New York, he decided to settle in America. Years later, he and his wife decided to marry in Agerola. Watching their guests experience the food and atmosphere of Agerola, Daniele realized his dream. It was then that he convinced his brother, Ambrogio Florio, (a trained pizza chef) to join him in America so they could create Sapori di Napoli. Ambrogio Florio left Italy bringing with him a bag full of passion and knowledge…both essential ingredients needed to create the perfect Napoletana Pizza.
Sapori di Napoli aims to transport each of its guests to the rustic family courtyard in Agerola. So for anyone who has or wishes to travel to Italy to: eat the way Italians eat, to drink the way Italians drink, and to enjoy the way Italians enjoy, Sapori di Napoli invites you to 314 Church Street to experience “Agerola Sunday” every day of the week.
